Age Concern Mid-North

Age Concern Mid-North is based at Kingston House, 123 Hone Heke Road, Kerikeri.

The office is open 5 days per week from 8:30pm to 4:30pm.  A 24hour answerphone service operates.  For further information telephone 09 407 4474, Fax 09 407 4458 or email us on acmn@xtra.co.nz

Age Concern Mid-North has the following services:

  • An Accredited Visiting Service allows trained volunteers to visit socially isolated older people.  Co-ordinator Debbie would like to hear from you if you need a visitor, or if you would like to be a visitor.

  • The Accredited Visiting Service continues to provide a welcome service in the community, 51 volunteers visitors and 77 clients.  Petrol costs are a serious concern to this service as volunteers struggle to afford to put up extra mileage.  We are very grateful to our precious visitors.  Their efforts DO make a difference.

  • A health promotion programme promotes healthy living in your own home, and social contact within the community.  Social outings and bus trips provide the opportunity to 'mix and mingle'.  The Co-ordinator will be glad to hear from you.

  • Annual membership will receive two monthly newsletters which keep you up to date with 'what's on'.

  • A 50% Taxi subsidy initiative.   Funded by the Te Tai Tokerau PHO this service allows people over 65s without access to transport to receive a 50% subsidy on fares in the Mid North and Kaitaia.
